Each year in late Spring, South Florida HOBY hosts a three-day leadership seminar open to promising high school sophomores from public, private, and specialized schools in the southern region of Florida. These HOBY Ambassadors, as we call them, are selected to represent their schools at the seminar because they have demonstrated the potential to lead and to positively influence others. HOBY Ambassadors are given the opportunity and encouraged to interact with, question, and respectfully challenge community leaders, while networking and forming friendships with other ambassadors, volunteers, and service organization representatives.
HOBY believes that our ambassadors represent the future leaders of the world--in politics, education, business, or any other field they may choose--because a HOBY Ambassador is someone who is already capable of making a difference. While each school has its own process for selecting students to represent them at HOBY, it is expected that each Ambassador will return to their school, place of worship, and community prepared to empower others to act, lead by example, and strive to excel in their every endeavor. Your high school guidance counselor should have more information about our program; if your counselor is unfamiliar with HOBY, please have him or her to visit our website or contact our Director of Recruitment.
